Das Leid der Roma in Jugoslawien während des Holocaust

Mit der Bombardierung Belgrads im April 1941 und der anschließenden Besetzung und Aufteilung Jugoslawiens durch die Deutschen und ihre Verbündeten begann die Verfolgung der Roma. Einer der wenigen Historiker, die sich damit grundlegend auseinander gesetzt haben, ist Milovan Pisarri. Das Roma Center spricht mit ihm über die Geschichte des Genozids (Porajmos) gegen Roma besetzten Jugoslawien – ein kaum bekanntes und von der Forschung weitgehend ignoriertes Thema. Auch die Verfolgung der Roma im „Unabhängigen Staat Kroatien“ ist Thema. Das faschistische Regime der Ustaša führte dort das Vernichtungslager Jasenovac.

Die Veranstaltung findet am Jahrestag des Auschwitz-Erlasses statt, der 1942 die reichsweite Erfassung und Deportation der Roma und Sinti in das Vernichtungslager anordnete.

The suffering of the Roma in Yugoslavia during the Holocaust

With the bombing of Belgrade in April 1941 and the subsequent occupation and division of Yugoslavia by the Germans and their allies, the persecution of the Roma began. Milovan Pisarri is one of the few historians who have dealt with this in depth.
